56mm tb?
I've seen a few of these 56mm throttle bodies knocking about. Is this a decent upgrade or is it too big. Bearing in mind that I will probably be camming the vvc motor up in the not so distant future too will this make it more suited to a larger tb?

Re: 56mm tb?
It's too big and doesn't fit without modifications.
Stick to the alloy 52mm one.

Re: 56mm tb?
I can't remember exactly where the power was lost. I did read a test somewhere on the net with rolling road comparisons. I know someone who has fitted one and wasn't impressed. I think you have to find somewhere to attach one of the vacum hoses too.
Found some more info
I've got a 56mm one fitted. Strictly speaking you don't have to remove the stepper motor housing, just remove the stepper motor and replace the throttle stop with a bolt rather than relying on the stepper motor staying in the right place. Removing the housing does tidy it up a hell of a lot though and is fairly quick and easy to do. You also have to replace the throttle cable lever with the one from the original plastic throttle body, due to different dimensions. The throttle potentiometer from the 56mm one fitted/worked no probs.
You do have to get an oil breather filter for the breather pipe from the head, as there aren't enough connections on the 56mm body, so it now vents to air rather than back into the manifold, and seal off a v small air bleed/vent.
The only reason I got the 56mm one was because they were going for around £30 on ebay whereas the 52mm were upwards of £60. As others have said, if you can get a 52mm one for £20 from Pilsdon, then I'd go that route.
The writer runs a standard 1.8 non vvc engine.

Re: 56mm tb?
^^^^^^^^^^^^ What gets me is Honda uses a larger throttle body than 56mm as standard but i guess its the Rpm they do is in more need of the larger size WEST
