Heater Controls
Hi All,
Picked up my Spyder yesterday. I noticed that the heater control slider (on the right door post) seems to vary between hot and hotter. I'm hoping this is just an adjustment thing - does the slider operate a flap in a blender box or similar? Is there adjustment on the cables and if so is this done from the lever end or the blender box end?
Will be fine for the winter months but if I've not sorted this by next summer I'll have to get used to driving in just my underwear!

Re: Heater Controls
I've still not got to the bottom of my controls yet. Think there might have been an airlock Lin the heater circuit as they didn't do much in any position! Now replaced all coolant, inserted additional bleed points and hopefully negated any airlock. Can anyone tell me exactly what the sliders do and which position for what. Trouble is all the S K C C members down here think I'm downright soft for even mentioning the word heater!!.

Re: Heater Controls
The heater unit gets hot water from the engine all the time, the slider just moves a flap that directs the air over the matrix or bypasses it.
If you get an airlock in the heater unit or it's pipework then you would get no warm air at all even with engine up to temp and the control set to warm.
I would guess therefore that the control rod has come off the lever end or the heater unit end. When you move the control lever quickly from one position to the next do you here a slight 'clunk' sound from the left side of the dash (the flap moving)?

Re: Heater Controls
Thanks for the advice Sidewinder - If I move the lever sharply I do get a clunk (of sorts) from the left side so the lever and flap are connected. It also seems that having done the sharp lever movement the car feels much cooler so it seems that a slow movement doesn't move the flap but a sharp movement does! I just need to be a bit less gentle and I can control the heat.

Re: Heater Controls
Maybe the flap mech was/is sticking.
