Post Roof panel sealing
Does anyone else have trouble with a leaking roof panel at all? Mine lets water in via convection I think and the fixings are currently stuck so I can't get it off easily for a look see.
When I eventually free it off should I find some sort of rubber seal in there?

Thanks, Jamie.

Yes there should be a rubber seal between the tub and the panel.

Mine have never leaked from the roof panel. Window near the mirror? Yes. Pedal box onto my feet? Yes! Heater/blower into passenger foot well? Yep there too!

All easy to fix apart from the window.

The roof panel is covered with alcantara and its saturated. I expect the covering extends past the seal and its getting wet by convection. Hopefully the seal is there when I remove the panel!

I didn't use the GTM rubber D section they supplied, I didn't think is was big enough to create a decent seal especially at motorway speeds. I used 8mm thick adhesive backed closed cell foam of a good quality, and stuck it to the underside of th e roof panel, you can mark from below with the panel fitted to install the foam perfectly.
I can't feel any air entering the cabin at speed, mind I don't drive the GTM when it's raining especially now when there is salt on the road, you guys are cruel
I Don't know if you have the standard roof fixing balls, but I bought larger diameter ones you can get a better grip on them for tightening them and undoing them they never come loose.

Thanks Jamie.

I think I'll have a search on the woolies for a seal like you say and try and get it free'd off at the weekend. I'm going to cut back the alcantara so it doesn't extend beyond the seal as thats most of the problem solved I expect.
