Post Libra/Spyder uprated radiator
Looking for an uprated radiator for my Spyder.
I know about the Passat upgrade but if there is a straight swap out there, that would be great.

I think Talon do an upgraded metro radiator which I presume would be a straight swap.

Worth checking out if you don't want to bugger around with a different rad. Expensive though I think.

The Passat swap isn't that hard - I did mine with a bit of re-plumbing of the original water pipes so just a bit of grp to cut on the radiator support and the battery support to make room for the flipped over pipe and reduced the length of one of the metal pipes by about 40mm.

Makes a big difference - best £36 I ever spent. (plus £15 for the replacement electric fan)

I know it isn't difficult Sanzomat. With all the help files on the site, I have been looking at doing the Passat swap for a while now, even looking forward to it. Then winter arrived and spending all that time outside lost its appeal. So just wondered if anyone had a straight changeover radiator hiding in a corner, somewhere.
I like a bargain, so will probably be going down the VW route if nothing crops up.

Well, after extensive research talking to people that can make me a radiator and firms that sell radiators, there is a definitive and conclusive answer that's going to reward all those that took part.

Yes, it's time to man up and fit the Passat rad.

Just in time too, looks like the bottom of the Rover rad has suffered over the years.....
