 Re: Front Clam Bushes As stated previously those big rusty bolts were (from the bits box) just to hold the parts together for welding.
Fitted the new hinges and replaced the bonnet, opens smooth as silk now. Will post pics at some point.

Re: Front Clam Bushes I've just had the bonnet off again to start fitting a new rad and found one of the Oilite bushes has broken just below the flange. I'm now of the opinion that these are not robust enough (and too brittle) certainly in the size (13mm OD) I bought. Maybe the ones with 16mm OD would be better as this gives thicker wall size. Re: Front Clam Bushes I've now made some new bushes out of black Acetal, but made them 16mm OD instead of 13mm (drilled out the holes in the bonnet).

Easy to drill out the glass to suit
In fact the original bushes had been running around and opened the holes to more than the 16mm
