Thanks for that sanzomat!

It's good to know you can keep adding bhp if you want to :D
The object of the exercise is to add as much value/desirability without spending loads of money.
I ordered a load of MGF/TF stuff today....hopefully this will work with my existing 1.6K and it's ECU.
If not I will throw a bit more money at it and get a VVC engine/loom/ecu/immobiliser.

I'll keep you posted as stuff arrives and gets fitted.

I found the Libra build manual online which explains the pedals and shows what they look like so I know what I have to make now (clutch pedal)

I agree with Sanzomat, when I did my K3 engine change I also used the engine loom and tapped into the body loom.(original metro loom ) I found most wires matched, I only needed to add a few as I was putting in a digital spedo.

I am concentrating on the installation of the manual gearbox and will worry about the wiring later.....
The more I research the more I like the way the Libra was put together.
The steelwork GTM made is high quality and well designed it appears.
I have built several kitcar before but GTM were higher quality than my previous experiences.
The clutch pedal is my first item to make, l have a Metro pedal box and pedals to cut up which should make it easier.
It will have a lever out black to operate the MGF clutch master instead of the forward hook shown.
I'll use the Metro brake pedal which already has this feature.

The second bracket will be the PG1 bracket shown......very complicated to make in thick steel.

Hi Zagato. I've sent you some files using the email address on the bottom of your posts on the PG1 bracket. These were all sent to me from Sidewinder a few years ago when I was making mine. The pdf file attached here, when printed at 100%, is a cutting guide for the steel components to make the bracket.

This is the thread to read for more info on the PG1 bracket. Use some decent quality steel and not the rubbish I used first time. My second one is still going strong though with no issues at all!

Wow sanzomat,
Many many thanks for the PDF!
That takes a lot of the guess work away.
Which grade steel did you use? I would be mig welding because my tig skills are pathetic to say the least.
What is the thickness required?
Sorry to ask so many questions

If it helps I still have the card templates and wooden jig for the PG1 bracket.

Originals were made from 1/4" & 1/8" plate.

On my second attempt I went with 3mm thick for the back leg as per the GTM original, 6mm elsewhere. Apparently there was a reason for this - the 3mm can flex a bit when you bolt it to the boss on the gearbox thus ensuring it clamps firmly and can't move around and wear the soft alloy casting. All movement is then taken in the rubber mounting in the frame as intended.

Thanks for the kind offer sidewinder!
I will have a go from the PDF that sanzomat sent me.
If I run into difficulties it would be a great offer to come back to.
I'll tack it together on the gearbox so that should jig it to some extent.

A small update.....
All the automatic parts have been removed from the car including the flywheel.
The manual 1.8 flywheel is mounted and I was waiting for a clutch alignment tool which came today.
I have all the parts I need now except for the GTM specific brackets.
I'm pretty sure the car will run with the automatic ECU but I have to simulate the car being in P or D.
If this doesn't work I have a plan B which is another manual ECU/5AS/blipper from a rover 216 that I bought on eBay for £40.
Hopefully I don't need a new engine loom with those as well.....
Will update with some photos when there is a bit more to see.

Can you just get your ECU reprogrammed as a manual?

I recall there being a plug on the back face of the block that's only used for the auto box too - maybe something to do with auto trans oil temp? Dunno if that helps at all.

Crank position sensor (reads off the flywheel) might needs be different type also.
