Hi everone.

Looking for some fresh tires for the Libra, the current Toyo's are a bit leggy.

Toyo TR1 is no longer available in 195/45x16, at least not advertised as such.

The only brands I can see available in both 195/45 and 215/40 are Khumo Ecsta HS51 and Falken Ecorun ZE310.

Should I look at 205/45 for the rear ?? There is better availability in that size including our favoured Toyo TR1's.

All thoughts and experiences welcome

I have to say I run the T1R tyres on a TVR Tuscan and very happy with them but a friend does modified Elise's for the road and swears by the Khumo for price and performance

I can't find it available in 195/45x16 anywhere, not Camskill, not Blackcircles, not Demon-Tweeks, my local tire specialist can't get them. 215/40x16 no problem, just not the 195.

Mine came with 205/45 front and back and as the Goodyear F1's were 12 years old I soon changed them but kept with 205/45 all round. I went with Yoko AD08R and although a little noisy they gripped very well and were even okay for some track use. Some time later I acquired an MGTF 160 mot failure that I broke for bits and I used the 11 spoke wheels and 215/40 rears 195/45 fronts that were on them and I do think the balance is lightly better with the staggered set up but not much in it.
In conclusion, for road use I'd be happy with 205s all round.
I know a few sevenesque owners who hate T1Rs but I think they don't work well on super light cars but the Libra/Spyder is heavy enough for them to work okay.

I have a set of 17' 205/40 Falken ZE310's on my Libra.
It's certainly no track day tool, but for fast-ish road use, they seem pretty good. What surprised me most was the significant ride quality improvement over the previous 16" Toyo's.
