At least it seems to all be there. I guess the fading might polish out depending on how deep it goes into the gel coat. Got to be worth a go with a polisher and some farecla G3 on a foam pad to see how deep it goes. Good luck and keep the progress pics coming

If it's an older car then the gelcoat should be good quality and be able to be polished back to proper colour.

Make sure to add yourself to the Libra list on here.

I have taken the door cards off the doors so I can remove the wing mirrors and the door handles and also the locks
so I can start to polish the car and see what colour it is

Image

I do not know if I'm going to keep this grey colour or change it for something different

Image

I'm going to recover the door cards it's going to be much easier than doing it on my K3 on the libra they are just flat
I might change the colour to Black I don't know how this will look but this is going to be a long way off in the future as I've got a lot more jobs

I have taken more parts of the car for some reason one of the light plugs was in a plastic bag I don't think it would have worked like that :?
the indicators have lost their colour and all the screws are just rust

Image Image Image

The hinge assembly is not working properly I think there was more rust than hinge

ImageImage

sidewinder is making me a new set all shiny :D :D :D

Re. the hazard switch....it appears that whoever built your car has used the early Metro column and stalks, which incorporates the hazard switch on top of the column cowling (I'm assuming it doesn't do anything?).
I can't recall where I found the following info but it explains what changed and when:

"1980 Austin Metro through to 1995 Rover Metro including all MG Metro's all use the same steering wheel fitment. All these Metro's have the horn button at the end of the indicator stalk on the left and the hazard switch on top of the column cowling. It features a thick steering column with a top lug for indicator cancellation, which is 18.5mm, 48 splines. Momo boss = MC0250.
The mk4 around 1995 to end of production Rover 100 uses a totally different steering wheel fitment.  Believed the steering column was completely changed to give the option to fit a steering wheel with an airbag from other Rover models, such as 214 and 414 and some Land Rovers, instead of making a Rover 100 only item. The column is of smaller 15mm dia with 29 splines and a 19mm nut to hold the steering wheel on. Momo boss = MC4905"

So, if you wanted to do away with the column hazard switch and swop to the much nicer stalks you would have to change the column as well.
