V6 Engine mounts
Anyone know what engine mounts are used for the Rover KV6 in the Libra?

Re: V6 Engine mounts
On the drive side, they look similar to the K series, on the other side it looks to be a specially fabricated plate attached to a rubber mount. I can take some pics if you like.

Re: V6 Engine mounts
No worries Nik, I'll have a proper look myself, just wondered if anyone had already sussed it. I have a Rover 75/MG ZT Haynes manual on the way so I'll compare with that - hopefully it's the standard mounts even if the housing is bespoke. I'll let you know what I find.

Re: V6 Engine mounts
Does the KV6 use the PG1 gearbox? If so I guess it might use the same bracket the 4 cylinder engines use on the gearbox end? That uses a Metro mount built into the engine cradle with a bespoke GTM fabricated bracket to the gearbox. Those brackets are a bit like rocking horse poo so I made my own using a template from another member's.

Re: V6 Engine mounts
My V6 has a PG1 box, so hopefully it uses standard mounts.......yet to get out and have a proper look.

Re: V6 Engine mounts
I've now had a proper look: - I agree the drivers side looks like a standard K-series mount but using a GTM bespoke bracket. - the gearbox end - the one that's iffy on my car - looks like standard MGF but using a bespoke GTM mounting bracket (which makes accessing the bolts challenging!). This mount is available from Rimmer for £25 inc P&P at the moment in their current sale. - the standard V6 steady mount on the drivers side, bottom rear of the engine isn't used as its replaced by the forward-facing GTM steady bar, which goes from the bottom of the gearbox forward to the n/s floor. It uses a Rover Metro/MGF inner wishbone mounting bush at the gearbox end.
