Rear locking link Track-rod ends.
OK folks the next problem has arisen (haven't driven the thing on the road yet). The inner track-rod end on the locking link on the passenger rear side has broken (so possibly as well I wasn't on the road!). The outer one is obviously Mini but the inner one is different. I think it's still 1/2"UNF but a left-hand thread and the taper on the ball-joint itself is larger. Is this a "standard" part on Coupes? and if so do we know what it's from or part numbers?
Should stuff like this be in the build-manual (and if so does anyone know where I can get a copy) or is there a club publication listing what the various parts are from? I'm thinking along the lines of a publication called "Alterpart" from the Reliant Scimitar and Sabre Owners Club. OK I know they are or at least have been a somewhat larger club but I was just wondering.

Alan Britton (rossabitz) may be able to help you on this.

Re: Rear locking link Track-rod ends.
I picked some up from Alan, last Wednesday. I think he had got some in stock. He has got his details in the Rossa section of the site.

Are the details current? I haven't had a response. I've tried a PM so hopefully I'll get a response there.
Meanwhile I've been doing some digging - can anyone confirm if I am right that they're Austin A50 ends? There are a few sellers with them on ebay - I know I'd have to buy 2 sets and just use the left hand threaded one from each set whilst the "normal" threaded ones would be surplus to requirements but hey I want the car on the road.

Re: Rear locking link Track-rod ends.
Left hand threaded tie rod end for GTM Coupe steering tie rod. As far as I remember this left hand thread end was from an Austin Cambridge A60 or even A55 drop arm to drag link joint. Hope this helps. Alan Brittain should have them in stock since same as Rossa In case you are unaware he is currently working on a mod. kit of engineered bits which replaces the existing rear locking steering arm and associated tie rod to maintain perfect geometry during rear suspension movement and hence prevent any bump steer.

How did your one break? Mine did break on the road, which is the main reason I sold her. Alan told me about a modified setup a year and a half ago when this happened. Someone give him a nudge again to start selling it.

Re: Rear locking link Track-rod ends.
I was them the other week (20th Feb) and they are nearly ready for sale.
I think we could do with a price list posting of all the parts that he sells for coupes, rossas etc.
I've got to say after buying the rear arms and the gear linkage is that the stuff is sells is top quality stuff.

I don't need nudging! Just more time. You're correct! They are from A60 Cambridge. I usually have LH track rod ends in stock but I'm running low. Please phone on 01487 813396. The new locking system is almost finished. No price yet but I'll have them at Stoneleigh. Some of you may have seen the prototype at last year's shows. Uses spherical rod ends in place of track rod ends.
