Post slight problem...
Does anyone know how to get around this... My libra came to me in a bit of a sorry state. Also had no plates on it and no v5. Its been registered before and I have the chassis number but I cannot send for a v5. Is there any way I can find out what its reg was from the chassis number?? I asked the dvla and they said it would need sva testing but this seems daft as its been sva tested etc before when it was first on the road.

Is there a way of sending for the v5 without stating the reg or something? Surely it must be on a database somewhere as the chassis number has been registered before

You would really think the DVLA would be able to help.

Do you know the history of the car? Does the previous owner know the previous owners details?

Try posting a few pics, you never know someone might recognise it.

It was through salvage so I've no v5, no knowledge of previous owners etc and no reg plates. Its daft, if it had the plates I could just apply for a new v5. Would think they would be able to check it against the chassis number. Ahh if worst comes to worst ill have to sva it again.

There is a good chance I or someone will know it. There aren't that many out there. Pics of the interior, wheels, engine etc will make it easier.

Where did you buy the car?

How long have you had it?

I do have an idea which one it could be.

The interior has all been stripped out now as there was some water ingress from being sat outside for a year or so when the previous owner didnt crack on with it. Was all red carpet with sony xplod speakers, headunit, horrible red sparco gearknob...the usual red dash and cream coloured dials. Ill be in the garage all day tomorrow working on it so ill get some pics then.

The wheels are black multi spoke team dynamics 16 inch ones with toyo proxes on.

I bought the car off a bloke who prepares elises etc...he was given it as part payment by the owner of a salvage place in bury called evolution at the time. He spent a fortune on parts ..theres a new front clam, lights, wishbones etc but he never started it. So it just sat outside. Ive had the car about 2 months and he had it for a year or two maybe.

Is it chassis number SA9LV3300Y2011097 :D

I am informed that it was a Cat B write off. ie

Category B
A vehicle from which spare parts may be salvaged, but the bodyshell should have been crushed and the car should never return to the road.

Were you aware of this? It seems the previous owner was going to fit a supercharged Honda engine and use it on track. Not sure how you would go about SVA and registering it on the current chassis number if it is cat B.

No plates,no V5, been crashed, it must have been written off then.

What category write off :?:

If repaired I would have thought it would have to go through SVA/IVA.

Sorry

Yes that's my car!!! Do you have any other info on it? I don't mind the hassle of getting it back on the road as long as it can be done
