Re: Stafford Kit Car Show 17th/18th Sept 2011
Just got back from Stafford Kit Car Show, happy for anyone to use these pics and notes in the newsletter.
This years Stafford Kit Car Show had a very poor turnout, only one GTM, me, a couple of Marlins, a Merlin, some Cobra's, a Dutton and the usual '7' clones.
The exhibitors hall was very sparse, a couple of clubs represented by a couple of cars and a splattering of spares providers. I was surprised that they were asking ten pounds for entry, even for kit car drivers, heard a few people mumbling about that.
I did meet a couple of GTM owners, one rebuilding a K3 and the other putting a Honda Type-R engine into a Rossa 2. So chatting about the cars for an hour that made up for the lack of machinery to look at. It was also good to get the car out to it's first event in it's new wingless, sticker free look.
Asking around it seems this event is going from bad to worse, I certainly won't be making the 2 hour drive there and two back next year.
