Talking front side lights again, I went for these. One day soon I'll fit them

I'm considering these for replacement headlights:

Been watching them come down in price.

Quick update on my HID headlights. I didn't want to post any more about them until i'd got them checked out!
Took the car for an MOT yesterday & mentioned the headlights to the tester. He said there's no problem fitting HID's so long as the pattern is correct. He checked the pattern & said they're fine, no problem at all. So that looks good.
On the road, they do look much better than the standard bulbs. Much whiter rather than the yellow originals and much brighter. Will try to get some pics tonight.
They were quite a bit of faffing around to fit - there's 2 boxes either side than need mounting somewhere & loads of wires. But i think the results are worth it

Hi,
Conversion to HID lights would require automatic leveling and front light washers to pass the test in Norway, so not a feasible way...

Have anyone taken the LED route? Like one of these?

I have fitted a pair of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cree-LED-Head ... 803wt_1137

they auction them ever so often I got mine for £27 posted very easy to fit but I did remove the original plastic headlight plug and just connect the terminals to the correct spades on the led lamp to enable me to have more space to fit them in the Libra fibreglass covers.

Not used them much as yet but definately brighter than the original osram nightbreaker bulbs and a clearer white light not been able to test for range as yet.

Hi Matty

Surely some of the range issues are due to the fact they are so close to the ground ? But they do look promising

I stand to be corrected :)

Cheers.

The height doesn't help that's for sure.

One thing I noticed on mine is that it dropped the dip out when you select main (it's a constructions & use thing as you're not allowed to have more than one light source in a single reflector headlamp - plus a H4 bulb would get quite hot with 115w on). I've got the touring setup with the 4xhella units so I've swapped the dim dip module out to a standard changeover relay which gives me dip & main when main is selected which helps a bit....well it would if the mains were pointing in the right place....
