 Restoring gelcoat colour
Whilst the car was out of the garage I was able to see in the light of day just how badly faded the colour is on my car. It's yellow, but very faded in places. There is a big difference in colour between the sills and the bodywork. Some parts look almost closer to white than yellow. Is it possible to restore the colour at all with T-cut or something...?

 Re: Restoring gelcoat colour
T Cut just rubs off the colour, rather than restoring it. The more you use it on Gel Coat, the more it will fade. If it is really bad, then you may need to think spray job.
Although it may be worth checking somewhere like frost, as there may be stuff knocking about to restore fiber glass.

I feared as much... Has anyone had experience of having their coupe resprayed..? If so what were the results like and how much did it cost...?

Read this thread, post4239.html?hilit=gelcoat#p4239 there's a link to a gel-coat restoration product some way down. Whoops it does'nt seem to work, try Frost restoration.

 Re: Restoring gelcoat colour
I can't remember where it was but I remember seeing something on a boat chandler's site that looked useful - try Google. I used Farecla from Frost for buffing up mine with a polishing pad in a drill but it was still in the mould release agent rather than faded - it came up a treat.

 Re: Restoring gelcoat colour
Farecla do specific gel coat restoring and protective products but they are basically mild abrasive polishes and waxes.
If the gel coat has faded or oxidised to any great depth then I'm afraid that a respray may be your only option.
