A Series centre thrust bearing side face damage.
Hi all My A Series engine with the broken crankshaft has, for some strange reason a 0.006" ish taper on the side face of the centre main bearing housing and cap obviously behind the centre side thrust bearing. One of the side thrust bearings was dislodged and chewed up slightly due to the crankshaft breaking but not sure whether that caused it. Anyway does anyone have any idea if the side face can be skimmed up true and maybe compensation spacers fitted to acommodate new side thrust bearings? Who could do it ? Alternatively has anyone got a spare A series (Not A+) block in good nick to sell Another question is I gather that A Series centre thrust bearing are now very limited in the sizes available, or is that just a rumour?

Malc, I have a pre A+ block and crank but it's bored to 73.5 (1380 with standard stroke) unused since this was done, there are new pistons to suit too, there's no make stamped on them though. It is available if it helps.
