Post Flickr group for the Coupe.
Hi all, nice to be back on the forum again! My coupe has been sitting patiently waiting for me to find time, inclination and money to carry on....I'm nearly there!!
Anyway, I've started a Flickr group for any of you to display your Coupe shots.

You remember correctly! - It was just needing interior work, but renewing the loom, column and electrics as well as some engine out work.

What is the power to weight ratio of that?

I would expect the car to weigh 675kg approx

At the moment I have a friends caterfield in the garage, which has a 2.0 Ltr Vauxhall 16v.
From a Cavalier GSi, it has twin, twin webbers and a distributor retro fitted instead of the standard injection/ignition, other than that the engine has had an oil change and new oil pump.

It was sent to Northampton motorsport jetted and tunned and gave 178bhp I can't remember what torque it gave though.

So with .....675kg (your figure)
and the .....178bhp (Northampton motorsport figure)
Equates to..263.7bhp per ton

Thanks. My stripped out gtm with a Honda 1600 twincam weighs 660kg, so I assumed 675 would be of the right order. My Honda engine produces 150bhp so gives 228 bhp/tonne - I was just looking for a comparison.

I am hoping the Kawsaki engined car will soon be at 450bhp/ tonne.

so neil thats 250, plus the extra 150 nitrous shot on top = 571.42bhp per ton going on your 700kg's weight figure 8)

David I'd still love to see this car at the drag strip.

I'm still yet to see a bike engine converted car do a sub 11 second run.

We have gone a little off topic

Stuart I have turned down the nitrous these days and have run almost as fast as my PB!

180[engine]+110[nitrous] and 720Kgs [without driver]

this gives 402 per tonne  this is the first time I have calculated it

If the car goes well and I am free on the right day I would like to try a drag strip.
I am assuming that the Kawasaki engined car weighs about 600kg, but I am at Mallory Park in March and I will be able to use their weighbridge.

Ok, on the Mallory weighbridge it was 651kg - after we had brushed the snow off - sprinting in snow is not a brilliant idea.
The 1200cc Kawasaki engine now with turbocharger fitted gives 242bhp at the back wheels so say 265 at the crank gives me 407bhp/tonne. It certainly goes well or now I need to say went well. I was sprinting quite well and very happily on Sunday at Curborough but on my last run something - probably a valve let go in the cylinder head so now I have a 3 cylinder Kawasaki engine. The engine is currently being taken out of the car so we can see what the damage is, but I suspect I am going to need a new engine. The problem was too many revs! Driver error.

I have got the red car out of the lock up and I am going to compete in that this coming Saturday at Loton Park while we debate the Kawasaki engine.
