Niiice Danno. Really do like it. That's just low enough and the exhaust hangs out the back enough to lessen the impact of the spoiler i've fitted to mine (When I get up the guts to post it.)

 Re: My vtec coupe.
Welcome to the club of VTEC. So what one did you go for, B16? A couple of observations, your engine looks to be canted over alot more than mine so would be keen to see what effect that has on position in the bay compared to mine. I see drums on the back, what cvs/drivshafts are you running, I went through alot of developement in my early days and broke shafts/cvs etc to get to where I am now. And when are you coming out to play Have you been out for a drive yet? I am sure you will be shocked with how quick it will be, just take it easy till you get to grips with it as a 160hp+ engined coupe makes for a very quick car, and it will respond very differently to the turbo motor. Neil

 Re: My vtec coupe.
Hi guys, im glad you like it and yes i have been out in it and its an absolute flying machine . The engine is a b16 and the drive shafts are hybrid mini/honda ones that me and my dad made up, we made a boss and pressed the two halves into it and welded it for safe measure and beleive me ive given them some stick launching the car and drifting it and have had no problems (yet) but a lot of fun and thats with the drum set up so the stubs are tiny compared to the disc ones. As for braking i have a metro 4 pot set up on the front and the drums on the rear but i only ever go fast in a straight line atm so ive always got room for stopping. Well with the engine position i mounted it as i presumed it would sit in the honda because the timing cover/gearbox mounts are level/upright if you know what i mean and thats just how it ended up sitting in the car. I had to cut a hole out for the exhaust and alternator to fit but apart from that it went straight in . Ill come out to play when i get the balls to drive it long distances as i live in swansea, south wales, so most shows and track days are quite a drive away. I am hoping to take it down pembre as there is a track day in september and its only 30-45 mins away from where i live. I took it down last september when it had the turbo engine in it and i was surprised then at how well it went, but the best part was i drove it down there, hammered it round the track and drove it back without any problems .

 Re: My vtec coupe.
Cool sound slike your having fun Can i make one suggestion, put it to the top of your list, get the larger cvs on. I had the drum cvs with my D16, and went through a spat of wheel bearing problems after track days, this was the warning sign. I broke a Drum cv at Avon park within the upright. so get the larger ones in there, they can be fitted to drums with a bit of jiggery pokery. I did 20K miles tho on new drum cvs until I finally broke one, so you should have a little head room but plan an upgrade soon, keep a regular eye on the split pin and the nut torque, if you start loosing torque the CV problems have started. I am dead keen on seeing it be nice to see how you have approached it, on mine i went for an engine postion which gets it as far foward as possible, which means its a little more upright compared to yours. my driveshafts actually run forwards slightly. Top work Neil

 Re: My vtec coupe.
Thanks for the heads up Neil.
Sorry ive taken so long to reply and im gutted ive missed all the shows/events this year but hopfully next year ill try my best to get to a couple of them.
As for the car im going to take it off the road for the winter and give it a "body off" overhaul and do a little more strengthening to the subframe and sort out a few things that need looking at.

 Re: My vtec coupe.
Hi guys, the coupe hasnt been on the road for the best part of a year now as ive been giving it a bit of an overhaul and have been busy with another project. Here's the work ive done in this time Protec billet steel shock absorbers on rear Hard coil spring conversion for the rear Custom rear track arms made by myself Poly filled engine mounts New cam belt kit New sytec alloy fuel pressure filter Now have a fire extinguisher in the car Relocate wires and fuel pipes and install engine management light Little bit of welding to floorpan New rear window seal Repaint engine bay and floorpan Make boot lid/engine cover one piece Finally got round to wet sanding and polishing it too But now she's ready for the MOT tomorrow and is now registered on the log book as a 1600 with the correct engine number so she's all ligit , ill get some more pics up soon.
