Thanks Derek I knew I'd have to bend the arm but never thought to bend the rod to match, I'll have a nosey in my Triple C mags. Hi John, yes its a Frogeye, I bought it as a basket case about 10 years ago and me and my dad restored it in time for the 50th anniversary at Gaydon. I should also say that its not just me working on the Cox but my dad is having a big input too, he's retired so is doing most of the donkey work during the day and I just come home after work and do all the easy stuff

I had to bend teh arm on my old Cox and did teh same when I built my twini Mini as I constructed turrets for the subframe mounts. When you are finished please can I borrow your dad to help out here during the day when this geriatric is at work   John |

A bit of an update. Progress over the last 3-4 weeks has been good but slow. We've been making a bracket to mount the gear selector and a cage to hold the handbrake lever, and of course cutting the all important bum tweaking holes in the tub. The early tub has a taller tunnel than later cars so the gear selector sits an inch or two down from the top surface. There are also three large access holes on the underside which means I can get in and adjust the handbrake, just. Next jobs on the list are the brake lines, wiring loom and maybe put the engine back in.

Been waiting for some Aeroquip brake hose bits to arrive so turned our attention to the loom. I think this may have originally been supplied with the kit back in '67 rather than extended by the original owner. Half is covered in material and the rest in tape. So we can check the condition and add in extra wires for the electric fan, rev counter etc we're completely stripping the outer and recovering it, very messy job...

A bit of a photo updated all the electrics work and wrapped up, only a few wires to sort behind the dash and I'll take another snap. Next week we start on the cooling system... Pre wrap...    Post wrap...

I've got to the radiator stage with my early Cox project, I noticed there's another thread on cooling but thought I'd add my question here. I tried the Vauxhall Combo rad but it was too big everywhere, I think I have less room under the front of my Cox a template we made up measures 580x300. After a bit of googling I went for a 1275 Maestro rad, see dimensions below, Rimmer Bros have them on offer too so things were looking hopeful. From memory the size of the Vauxhall combo and Allegro was very similar hence its a good fit on the Coupe front. The Cox front is a little tighter at the front tho due to its shape Neil |

Allegro radiator size 770mm x 272mm X 55mm with mounting points at 620mm It might be worth looking at MG TF radiators for something smaller

Thanks, looks like the Allegro one is way too big too. We made a rough card template which measures 580x300. Looks like the Fiat Seiciento rad might be the best option. |

Andy is that size the total radiator size you have space for as I have found a radiator that has a very close core size to those dimensions? so will be slightly bigger in total size. Fiat Punto. Yes the allegro rad is very wide the Vauxhall combo b radiator is very close to the same size if you get the right one, the 1.7 diesel version. The MGF and Elise are taller and slightly narrower, Also a Sierra Cosworth radiator is similar in size but again the height is going to be the limiting factor. The Vauxhall radiator was the shortest height radiator I could find. Neil |

Other ideas Rover 100 MPI Mini front radiator fitted to the last of the injection cars, these I remember being quite small in size. Neil |
