Post mounting front subframe
Al last free of jobs to do so Coupe build it is.
I'm about to strip out both subframes send them for soda blast and epoxy coat before powder coat. Has anyone done this before and how did they address the bearing parts to stop paint/plastic build up?

You can either mask them before hand ( or ask the powder coaters to mask them) or clean it off afterwards.

You'll probably need to clean out all the holes too.

I once had a pair of subframes hot dip galvanised and, while I never regretted my choice, I had to practically re-engineer the buggers afterwards.

On the front subframe itself I just put two old bolts back in where the top arm pin plates goes to protect the threads, other than that it should be ok to blast/coat the lot.

On the top arms themselves I remove the pins/bearings and dip the arm to remove any rust/grease. The places that blasts/powdercoats my suff masks the areas I ask them to, but if you want to do it yourself a belt and braces approach is to buy a length of threaded bar from the likes of B&Q, pass it through the arm and block each end off with a big washer and nut.

Likewise, no masking needed on the subframes. Just fit old bolts into all the threads.
