The coolest bit of the gear change is the selector shaft coming out the front of the of the gear casing, a lot of work went into that

Interested in how you have fitted the Toyota centers. are they bolted to the Mini drum driveflange, like a hub adaptor/spacer?

Hi Neil,
The outer flange (Toyota) is fitted with wheel studs and also has 4 recessed bolts passing through the disc into holes tapped into the Mini flange between the original stud holes. A location diameter was machined into the Toyota disc to center it onto the Mini flange, the outer (Toyota) flange acts as a spacer but is a bolted assembly not free fitting on the studs. I had to think about this as it must be at least 18 years since I did this for the twinny, I will take some pictures at the weekend
I have 2 sets of 4 hubs so there is a previous Kano coupe post I made showing 9” Nissan discs onto Mini hubs, that is easier as it is just a machined location diameter for the disc to sit in place of the Mini drum on the flange and drill 4 stud holes through the disc, all that remains is make a caliper mounting plate to fit the flange where the drum back plate would go
Toyota & Nissan must be much easier to find than Rover/MG parts??

Ah cool I had worked out the 9 inch Nissan disc solution, I was not far away with the Toyota solution looks good, always interesting to see how others have done fitting big discs.

The front suspension with coil springs and Mini Spares HiLows assembled, also fitted new damper top mounts and adjustable Spax shoxs.
That’s my last job as I’m on the plane tonight for my last 2 weekends racing of the year, I had planned to do Thoresby Park but it was cancelled due to poor track condition, so I had a last minute scratch around to get in late entries at the Saturday Wiscombe Park MGcc meeting and a quick dash to Gurston Down on Sunday, hope the weather is good for the weekends.
