Post GRM 263L
Hello everybody!

I used to own GRM263L way back when... Just wondered if anyone here still had the old gal? According to the DVLA it ran out of tax in 1996 so it's either a very long restoration, or it's now a gonna.

Mike

Good morning , GRM 263L is alive and well , I bought it in '94 , when did you own it ? What spec was it ? Colour etc , it appears to have been red /yellow/black and green at times in it's life .

Cheers
Rob

Rob, My name is Graham, Mikes dad unfortunately Mike (pikey7 ) passed away last year
But I have great memories of this car being rebuilt in our single garage in Northampton
It was bought as a part rolling shell complete except for no front subframe or engine
We had a completly rotten 1275GT mini so this was a good basis
The car was roller painted black when we got it but ended up being painted Fiat yellow ( with many aerosol cans )
We fitted a Jaguar XJ220 centre console and a pair of bucket seats
Wheels were 10" cosmics
Made the common mistake of fitting wrong fan so car overheated a few time before we sorted it
Have some photos of it somewhere

Oh happy days

Regards Graham

Rob, I think I have confused you I am Graham, Mikes (pikey7) dad. Mike aged 38 died of a heart attack last year in China working as a designer for Volkswagen after worrking in Gemany and Sweden
He loved his Minis and was a big contributor on the Mini Forum but has also owned Porsche 944 turbo, Triumph TR6, Triumph TR7-V8 Convertible,Vokswagen Coraddo, Jeep Grand Cherrokee Various Aprilia motorbikes Including Mille R,
We sold the car to a guy in Silverstone in approx 1990 I guess

If you have some photos it would be good to see themahamds Gr

Is that the Heerey parked out side on a trailer , opposite mardi gras motorsport :?:
.
If you search .... NN12 8GZ on google earth, zoom right in as far as you can, you can see a yellow car next to a enclosed trailer up beside the fence bordering the track.
