 Rear window
Does anyone else have problems with the rear-window? Mine doens't fit well. As you can see on the pics, the left side fits reasonably, the right side does not. I can't get the Acrylic (?) window to fit well. The window-rubber seems a bit short, or the window too large. The curve the window makes doesn't make it easy too. It is impossible to get the string (? don't now how else to call it) into the rubber without the rubber bending to the inside of the car and the window popping out. Has anybody got good advice about what to do? Different rubber? Different window (Less bendable)? Any other advice? Are there glass windows around? Thanks guys,

 Re: Rear window
In the end I made my own rear window from a new sheet of acrylic and cut and bent it to the correct size and shape but it's always tricky to get the window rubber to stay in shape around the tight curves.

 Re: Rear window
Using plenty of washing up liquid to lube up the rubber (Don't do this on a metal car). The the proper fillet tool, or one made from molegrips and bend coat hanger helps. But as with everything on the coupe, it depends on the original persons cutting of the hole. I had to warm my rear screen to make it fit the curve a bit better.

 Re: Rear window
Thanks guys, How did you bend/warm the accrylic without it getting burned? Maybe I will take the window out and see if the rubber isn't too small, it seems that way, the ends are welded together, maybe I will cut it through and make it fit better. (Or get a new one, nothing fancy is it? Or a different type?) Then see if the window fits better and if necesserry recut and/or rebend it. It seems reasonably thin and bendable, how thick is yours? (The window I mean guys.... ) Maybe there is a firmer kind of synthetic material, or a bit thicker. Are there people here with a glass rear window? Got to make me such bend coat-hanger-tool too Greets from Holland

 Re: Rear window
I used a halogen lamp up close and monitored it with a infrared temperature gun , it was controllable as I could move it back/forward as needed but a hot air gun would do.
Mine is 4mm thick, I'm planning to bend up a metal former to make another as mine is starting to get a bit scratched.

 Re: Rear window
Is that in the nearby future? Are you willing to make and send me one too? Which rubber do you use?

 Re: Rear window
Not on the "Do immediately" list I'm afraid.
The rubbers I used are I think standard Mini rear rubbers.

 Re: Rear window
The window and rubber fits well in your car? Watertight? Is there anybody around with a 3d drawing (Step, Iges or inventor format) of the window or the window-hole?

 Re: Rear window
Yes it fits fine, and it's watertight, even when jet washing the car. Unlike the side windows, windscreen, doors, footwell and most of the car.

 Re: Rear window
Haha, thanks, I wonder how watertight mine is, not very I think. Speaking of the doors, mine has got rubbers attached to the door, not to the doorway. This seems nog normal to me, what is normal? Mini-doorrubbers attached to the dooropening? Are there better (bigger) rubbers around?

Greets from Holland I used a hot air paint stripper very very carefully. I still wrecked one though when it got a bit hot and bubbled.

 Re: Rear window
My Car fits well, but I reglassed the opening and trimmed it to suit my window and rubber seal choice before painting, I went for small section rubber which is nice and soft, it does not feel plasticy like some I found, which does bend a bit nicer around the tight radii.
