Some progress has been made, lots of small jobs and problem solving has been done. The body shell has been fitted to the car and the boot section and wheel arches have been fibre glassed in. Attachment: rsz_img_20180824_092055.jpg [ 300.84 KiB | Viewed 6758 times ] Also a basic wheel alignment has been done to get the car able to drive. Attachment: rsz_20180714_165030.jpg [ 204.77 KiB | Viewed 6758 times ] The roll bar that came with the car has been modified with an extra cross brace so that four point harnesses can be fitted later. After welding the roll bar was powder coated to protect it. Trying the GTM rear bumper with the new exhaust system did not fit well so this bumper that has been made by another owner is going to be used. Attachment: rsz_img_20181027_160257.jpg [ 293.41 KiB | Viewed 6758 times ] Also the front of the car has almost been completed. The wiper motor has been tested and removed ready for painting. Looking good. You could get a slightly larger silencer in what I have done fills the area completely! I see you have gone for the Nankang track day tyres, be very careful in the wet, any standing water is scary. Have you thought about moving the battery to the front for weight distribution? I see the Vauxhall rad is fitting well Neil |

I see the Vauxhall rad is fitting well Neil I have experienced the tyres already we are planning on getting a second set of wheels for drives with any chance of being wet. What tyres are people running? Something like 175/50 R13 A539 Yokohama. https://www.minisport.com/yok1755013a53 ... -mini.html Did originally plan to fit the battery in the front as suggested, but that means you have to run the heavy gauge cable from the front to the back. So the battery is fitted in the engine bay to shorten that cable, and the battery only weighs a few kilos so it shouldn't affect the weight distribution very much. And yeah the radiator is fitting well and cooling the engine very efficiently. During the rolling road session the main fan had to be turned off when it was idling as the engine could not get up to temperature. Maybe too good |

Yokohama A539 175/60/13 front 185/60/13 rear I found this to be great. Currently the car is wearing the Nankangs like yours in 185/60/13 all round as I could not get the 175/60 I wanted. I was using the car as an everyday road car on the tyres as stated care is needed with any standing water. The car will ride alot nicer on the A539 too as the side wall is a lot softer. Kens option is a bit extreme Neil |

I'm back! We have had some fiberglass work done in order to fit the rear lights, these are the led rear lights from a lotus elise. This was done rather than trying to make some up using Hella components. And a rather big change is now being a painted car, it is painted in Volkswagen's Lapiz Blue and now looks like a completely different car there have been some other minor adgustments such as moving the pedal box over slightly for more clearance around the steering column, however it is still a squeeze. The bumper and front end which is now modified to remove the mini front bumper need to be fitted however I have now moved out to university so progress will be slower.
