Hi,
I'm going to make a new boot lid and a new engine cover.
Has anyone got a straight edge and can tell me if the boot is flat or is a curve to match the rear panel?
Cheers

Almost flat, if you allow for the warpage caused by the heat.

Add some bracing at the rear, either paper rope, or balsa wood cover in fibreglass

Thanks Ken,
I'll be using carbon fibre but matching RAL 3020 & special UV resistant gelcoat, then epoxy resin/foam.
So there should be no distortion and very light and strong. Still miffed that some years ago, when moving Coupe to our new home the boot lid blew off and was run over by a bus.
I had to go over to GTM and but a new one.

I lost an engine cover on my old Cox on the way to Nova Engineering the other side of Cambridge and didn't know it was gone until I stopped, I made a replacement from Alli sheet, which was fine until the car caught fire and was written off

Hi John,
I don't feel so bad now only loosing a boot lid when you lost a complete car.
Still you could probably have retrieved the boot lid for your next car.

I could not even do that the alli cover melted :( I did salvage the big bore Cooper s engine and sell it on, front and rear brakes came back to Nigeria and fitted to a Mini here, the Cox rear suspension was fitted to my Twinny Mini, but now back in the UK being fitted to next yeas red Bull F1 car?? The custom made exhaust system is fitted to my new GTM, bits scattered far and wide.

That does look nice, I joined my 2 piece cover together to make it like the old 1 piece cover and also extended the scoop over the carbs to cover the air box on the 45 Webber on a long manifold.
