HELP. Am trying to fit an old coupe body to a chassis and nothing seems to line up correctly. The front edge of the body below the windscreen seems to be 20 to 25 mm too short to pull over the top of the front bulkhead. I've tried being delicate and got no where, is this usual? Though I bought the body and chassis together they don't seem to want to fit together. Were there any changes to the length of body during the life of the coupe? Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to owning a GTM!
The body generally fits poorly, I found I had to jack up the back of the body and spring it on to the front bulkhead, then lower the body down again. You then have to put a long clamp on the sills (with large spreader blocks) up to the door opening to pull the body back until the wheelarch lines up with the edge of the sill, if you don't do this the doors won't fit at all. door shut line is a whole other story!
Good luck with it.

Thanks it's all good fun. The problem is made worse by the fact the body and chassis are from two separate vehicles which have never been married together. Also there are differences between bolt holes in body and tapings in chassis, but with a file, saw, chisel and mallet and all will be right. I am not a GTM virgin, this is my second innings.
