Hi, I am still battling with my coupe to try and get it on the road this year. Latest problems- starter motor. The chassis of my 1980's coupe doesn't fit an A plus series starter motor disspite modification to upright tube. Could it be I haven't got the top of the block pulled back far enough with the engine stabilisers? Or am I going to have to butcher the upright tube with an angle grinder whilst engine is in place? There is something to be said for earlier engines with starter motor and separate solenoid.
The second and more immediate problem is the wiring loom, in that a previous owner ( for whatever reason ) has cut all the plugs off the loom where the couple up to those on the column. 20 odd wires to trace and some are the same colour. Normally I can follow a wiring diagram from a Haynes manual, however there isn't one for the GTM as I am sure everyone is aware. I know it's a long shot but does anyone just so happen to have a complete loom they would be keen to sell? There are companies out there that could make a new one but without a diagram it would not be specific for the GTM.

Hi DEREK HAMBLY sells new looms that’s where I got mine it comes with all the right plugs, he has also made up a wiring diagram that he sent me with the loom. The new loom costs £275 on his website.
Hope this is of some use to you.

This will sort the starter problem.......

You can adjust the mount to any angle so that it won’t hit the box section on the bulkhead.

Derek has the looms and a diagram as stated above.......

Thanks guys. It's looking more and more like a new loom is the answer.

Damn, one supplier said it would take 12 weeks minimum to make a new loom, just can't wait that long. Looks like I am going to have to get out the soldering iron.
