Post subject:  The days before the Cox GTM

Hi All,

Can anyone please inform me if Bernard Cox or Jack Hosker are still with us?

If so does anyone have contact details, (please send me an e-mail if you do not wish to place details online.)

I wish to speak with them about a car they made before the days of the Cox GTM.

It was called the HSK Special and it was fitted with a Rochdale Type-F body.

Regards, Tony Stanton - Rochdale Olympic History Archive.

Would Howard know about it ?

He was racing with Bernard Cox at the time.

Howard is alive and well, down under still racing karts.

I have been in touch with Howard he has been very helpful, but we are talking about 1955 sometime before

Howards connection with Bernard Cox.

The reg suggests 1959 in Cheshire, would this be right for Stockport ?
Surely Manchester would be the local reg.

Sorry fat finger.

The photo is from the 750MC Relay race on Aug 15th, 1959 at Silverstone. Reg 208 GMB was issued in May 1959 in Chester as an HSK Special to Mr Bernard Cox.

Plus for us older people, in 1959 Stockport was in Cheshire and Manchester was in Lancashire, this was until 1974 when it became part of the new county of Greater Manchester which is divided into 10 metropolitan boroughs.
These are Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, and Wigan.

The good old days when Rochdale was in Lancashire.

Anything south of Carlisle is England as far as I'm able to tell.

Not there often enough to know the area's. If it wasn't for satnav I would never find anywhere off a major motorway.
