Or possibly: If you have the standard GTM tank, the outlet is very small. Mine was completely crudded up when I got it and took a lot of rodding with a wire coathanger to get it to flow. |

I'll have a look at both this weekend, thanks for your suggestions. I'm still going to Stoneleigh - just have to pay the entrance fee |

I had a problem with my old mini with crud in the tank breather, as a result of it sitting between the webs on the rear subframe. Engine would run OK for a few minutes, then stop as fuel pump became unable to overcome the vacuum in the tank. Only discovered it when the filler hissed when I filled it up. Also bought a 1/4 of a tank of water once, which was quite hard to diagnose - spark, yes - petrol'y smelling liguid, yes - engine running, no. |

Got a new guy in at work who is mini mad, we checked the timing, leads, HT etc all to no avail. Then he checked the spark plugs again, No 4 was very wet, he did a compression test on it - ok swapped the sparkplug over to another cylinder and the symptoms changed. Put a new spark plug in - problem sorted grrrrrrr Thanks Trev I spent hours on this fault and probably could have fixed it on day one and used it all summer. Still just got to get it ready for the MOT now and next season Thanks for all the advice anyhoo Griff |
