No, i put it in when i was completing the build. I had a new type r when they came out around 12years or so ago and in the winter or in the rain it would wheel spin all the time. Later when the better anniversary edition cars came out the diff was excellent, this is what spurred me to install from the offset on the conversion.
You can feel the rear wheels tighten up when cornering slowly and is right pain to push around a corner when the battery is dead i can tell you
