As I need an incentive to get my Coupe back on the road thought I'd stick a shot of it on the forum:

Let's hope some "peer pressure" shames me into action!

We will want to see it at Stoneleigh this year and at Avon Park too.

Looks a very nice one. Is it a new bonnet, or a recent kit? Looks lovely, any more piccies? What engine have you got in it?

Oh, and welcome to the forum. I'm sure that you can get more than enough enthusiasm from here to get a car as nice as that on the road.

Totally agree with Tim.

Looks nice, what's keeping it off the road?

Fantastic looking car - can you give us some info on history / spec?

Post subject:  Re: Andrew's Coupe

What's keeping it off the road? Finding the time to:

Sort out the cooling (rad frame is split and from experience it runs hot)
Sort out the electrics (it's running a gel filled racing cell that sometimes won't turn over the engine)
Sort out the brakes
New headlights lights (corrosion)
Needs new springs (fronts have totally collapsed)

Get MoT

So, looking at some of the project vehicles, not a lot just the fact that I work on client sites / away from home during the week, plus I've been co-driving in national rallies for 5 of the last 6 years.

It's mainly standard, 1380A Series with Metro 4 pot front calipers on Metro master cylinder. Rose jointed front and rear suspension. Bonnet was "home modified" to meet SVA (surprising what can be achieved with a length of steel pipe, gel coat and much polishing). It passed the SVA test during the DVLA "leniency" period when SVA was introduced.

Oh, and its not red (honest)!

I've used it at Curborough (sprint) and Harewood (hill climb), other than that it resides in the garage...

Very nice indeed. I have a similar problem, away from home during the week so no time to work on the car.

Looks great :)

Engine bay cooling solution, make and fit a cool scoop. It worked for mine.

If you look at the Smart Roadster & Coupe that's pretty much how they drive the cooling air up into a vertical radiator behind the rear bulkhead. The back deflector is just a bit of rubber hanging down rather than a formed guide though.

I'll see if I can get a picture from under the other half's over the weekend.

Hi Durbs
It looks to me from the lawnmower racing Cat.2 m/c that you may be a member of the NWLMRA
Have you ever heard of a guy called Robert (Robbie No.8) Jones?

Correction, Lawnmower racing is BLMRA isn't it? Picture of Robie Jones attached
