Matt's Coupe
Hello to everyone, thought I'd formally introduce myself and get some pictures of my newly bought project. My names matt if you haven't guessed by now, I work at Mintec Mini Spares In Newton Abbot Devon and I do most of the restoration and bodywork there. The coupe is an 83 kit, car number 135. It's regesterd as 1973 and all the documents are in order which is nice. The car has only been on the road for one year from 85-86 and then has been dry stored ever since. Not sure why it spent such a long time off the road but looking round the car I think it had been built as a dry run to MOT itand then taken off the road a year later to finnish the work that never got done. The floor is in stunning condition and after spending a couple hours stripping waxoil and paint I can't find a single bit of rust which make my life easy. The fiberglass is also mint and still has all the molding marks which I guess everyone flatted out when they got the kits new but for some reason this has never been done. A few pictures. Attachment:

Not going to rush this back on the road as I feel it needs to be done properly considering the condition. Hopefully more picture to follow soon. Matt@Mintec

Re: Matt's Coupe
Yes the paint is quite comical, i've spent about an hour with the needle scaler and removed 90% of the paint with certainly made me laugh. Stangly though the metal doesn't seem to have suffered due to it.

Re: Matt's Coupe
hi guys,i own chassis number 275c,which is road legal at the moment, and has been since i bought it 18 months ago as acording to the seller a1,this was far from a1,the reason for this post is it has a cooper s 1293 engine, which is tired and burning oil,can anyone shed light on who built the kit and engine.any help is greatfully recieved and photos can be forwarded.i also have a very documented history of the car but not the builder.
