Clamshell quick detach, how do they work?
Probably the first of the stupid questions.....
As above really, I've just bought a K3 and I can't see how the QD mount works on the clamshells. They have an R clip through them if that makes any difference.

Hi Rich My K3 had what you are describing. Disconnect all the wiring, pull the R clips then remove the bolt or rod the clip was holding in place (if not recently greased this could be a mite frustrating) then robert is your fathers brother. Beware the nylon top hat bushes may make an escape attempt.

Thank you! I suspect this one will be falling into the frustrating category, it looks like they haven't been apart for a while. The good news is that if the bushes make a successful break for it I can always make more.
