 Hood rails
I've had a wander down the garden and looked as promised
The side rails (over the windows) are deffo hinged from the middle (of 3) hoop - the thing that looks tricky is that the front hoop goes into a hole on either side rail.
Once I get round to fully assembling the roof to the bars I'll find just how tricky that is single handed.

 Re: Hood rails
Cheers for that Malcolm. Should be able to have a look at the weekend myself as well. The wife has a few days off next week and has muted that the roof off might be nice.
Will also have a good look at the gear change to see if I can quickly and easily move it forward so she can get reverse and 5th. more easily, fuel consumption not good when she goes everywhere in 4th.

 Re: Hood rails

 Re: Hood rails
Took the hard top off and have fitted the soft top (eventually) There was a nut/bolt missing but found one to do the job and all fits reasonably well. The hardest part is putting the roof up as you have to get the front bit sort of fixed and then do one side rail before going to the other side and fitting the large crossmember into the first side rail and then fit the other end into the second side rail before pushing/pulling etc. to engage the front of the side rails in position.
Anyone know the correct procedure or is this the way to do it? The wife is good at taking it down put reinstating is another matter.
Took it for a spin having over filled with petrol and with the roof up it smelt awful for a very long time but since then it seems ok so assume it was due to the over fill and not drawing fumes in all the time.
Had a blast down the motorway at about 80 and the noise was a bit off putting but you do seem to get used to it, every now and then you get a different noise or boom and I think it is about to rip the roof off but so far so good. (fingers crossed).
Now waiting for a complete down pour of rain to see if it is watertight.
