Post MGF/TF Wheels on a K3
I’ve got the chance of a set of 15” 6 spoke MGF/TF alloys and was wondering if anyone has photos showing how they fit in the arches and how far they stick out beyond, as these may be an easier option that’s trying to find decent 13” tyres for the Metro GTi alloys that I’ve got on the K3?

Thanks in advance

John.

Dave

Is there much poke beyond the wheel arch line, as I don’t fancy fitting arch extensions?

No, all 4 sit fairly flush. I haven't actually driven her yet, no exhaust. Is there truth in staggered being necessary ??

Dave

I have standard Metro GTi wheels all around with 185/55R13 tyres, which was what GTM specified for the kits, but finding new ones are nigh on impossible unless I buy Camacs, which are very poor according to the guys on the Metro forum.

Alternatives are limited by the looks of it to MGF/MGTF wheels, which have an offset of 28; whereas the Metro wheels are 52, resulting in possible protrusion beyond the arch line.

I am looking to try maintain the same rolling radius on the tyres, so,will either get a 13” tyre as close as possible that is a good brand or go for MGF wheels with appropriate tyres if I don’t need to extend the arches to do so.

Ultimately, it’s a kit car and what suits you would be fine.

Hi when I got my k3 the tyres where finished. Could not get that size so changed to 185/60/13 works well .
Hope this helps Stephen

I have managed to get a set of unused OEM 8 spoke alloy wheels with Continental tyres, as from the factory and the back ones fit perfectly, the fronts are showing a bit of poke, which I doubt will be legal or safe; therefore, it’s back to the drawing board, as I really wanted to use the MGF or TF rear suspension set up but can’t with 13” wheels :(
