Hi GTM enthusiasts, hope this will interest some of you...

My sadly neglected little red Coupe wants to get back on the road, but I've proved that I'm not the person to do it, sigh.

So I'm looking for somebody who will take away the collection of bits that used to be a working car (and its spare motor). I would like the new owner to demonstrate their commitment to the project by paying a fair price - would GBP 1,000.00 make sense? Please let me know if I'm being stupid (in either direction).

Here's a pic showing that it's not a rust bucket (I took the tub back to bare metal and repainted with the appropriate Hammerites, and it's been kept nice and dry in my garage since).



I'm pretty confident that all the body and chassis bits are there and not broken. Can't say the same thing for the engines though - sorry.
I've got the V5 of course, and there's a collection of photos on this link (I hope).

I built the car myself and enjoyed driving to GTMOC events - ulp - twenty years ago. Think I recognise some names on this forum...

I'll be towing with my jedi, but if you are lucky and need a trailer i can help you collect as long as not in Timbuktu A GTM has been in my box trailer

H everybody, good to know that there's still interest in the classic coupe

Here is a quick update with answers to some of the questions asked...

I purchased the 'Super Deluxe' kit with extras in 1989, took delivery in January 1990. I racked up over 20,000 miles, using it for work and holidays, until it broke a valve (I think). I dropped on another cylinder head and carried on using it for a while but work commitments stopped me from maintaining it actively.

About five years after I stopped using it, I stripped it down for a full rebuild. Managed to restore the tub but new job meant no time again, sigh, so packed up into the garage where it has stayed since.

The tub should be sound, back to bare metal using wire brushes, sanding discs, etc. then painted with Hammerite No. 1 and Hammerite smooth/hammered. Sills were treated inside with Waxoyl before original assembly and appear to be fine.

It has Mini hubs all round, with the Cooper single circuit 2 pot calliper discs up front. I've got spare Metro 4 pot callipers and hubs as well. Rear brakes use modified Mini rear drum backplates

Primary engine was mini 1275, prepared by MED with mild tuning. Spare engine was Metro 1300 HLE. Neither engine has been turned over for many years so I assume they will need rebuilding or replacing.
