Post subject:  LIBRA (No 134) **NOW SOLD**

Well I’ve finally decided to sell my pride and joy after a completely ridiculous amount of dithering… sorry for the lengthy post but as I’m quite far for most folk to view I want to give as much detail as possible:

Fixed price of £9,000. No offers please :D It’s taken me a long time to decide to sell and If I can’t get that then it’s not worth me selling it. Also, I don’t want to waste anyone’s time if they are coming from far afield. If you are willing to pay that it’s yours, simple as that!
I'm located in Aberdeenshire but If someone was serious I might be willing to drive south a bit for a viewing say Edinburgh? But I can’t commit more due to family care constraints I'm afraid. Anyway details:

GTM Libra, built by myself, pretty much to original spec and unadulterated apart from a few upgraded components as listed below.
SVA'd and Registered Nov ’08 as a new car, so on a 58 plate.
Currently MOT’d until 02 June 2018, no advisories.
6,523 miles
Would come with original build manuals etc and all receipts I have (which should be most of it!) Will also supply the numerous build photos and related wiring spreadheets etc I have on a USB.
Any spare parts I can find in the garage for it can go with it, I can think of a set of Fuel Injectors, Spare Key Fob, a windscreen…

Spec:
Red Gel coat (still red as has always been garaged)
1.8VVC K-Series, 160 hp from a 2004 MGTF 160,
(Has the standard oil cooler on it as originally fitted to these engines.)
New timing belt was fitted when built and I replaced the small cam belt last year.
Z-Cars rear suspension fitted summer 2009.
"GTO" Front end with Halogen Main and Dipped Beam with high quality Philips LED DRLS where the aux spotlights where (felt being visible was more important in a small car!)
“Big Brake kit” on front supplied by GTM, basically the AP Racing 4 pot ones as fitted to MGTF’s only in a nice Blue colour! New discs and pads and calliper guide pins fitted last year.
MGF Discs and callipers on the rear. Again, new last year when I fixed my rear brake alignment problem, wearing nice and even now and the handbrake works!
Full LED "catseye" Rear Light Clusters
SPA Digital Instrument cluster with 2 dedicated SPA gauges for Oil Pressure and Water Temp at Eng top hose. Selectable readouts for oil temp and water temp at radiator top hose on the digital display. (By comparing the 2 water temps you can see exactly when the thermostat is opening)
Rover "PRT" Remote Thermostat
Janspeed 4-2-1 stainless Exhaust manifold
Elise Cable Gear change conversion with Elise shifter (has some Mike Satur upgraded bits in there...)
Genuine carbon fibre gear stick surround from Eliseparts
Genuine Carbon fibre wing mirror covers from Elisparts.
Richbrook Leather Steering Wheel and solid alloy Gear Knob. (There’s a set of Richbrook Alloy Pedals as well that GTM gave me but I never fitted.)
Standard Rover 100 Radiator with PACET fan, fan controlled by ECU.
Standard Rover 100 Petrol Tank new when fitted with uprated metal Fuel pump.
Genuine MGF Expansion tank (thought it would match the engine better than the Metro one, new when fitted.)
New Throttle body when built (already had the larger one as it was from an MFTF160)
Recaro Seats as supplied by GTM
ITG Maxogen Carbon fibre induction kit
Good quality Blaupunkt amp and speakers fitted with Pioneer compact sub, Pioneer AV head unit (no satnav), Reversing camera hooked up to it. Can switch camera view on using unused rear washwipe switch on stalk. (i.e. It’s not controlled by reverse gear selection)
Elise polycarbonate sun visor on drivers side
MOMO 17" Predator Alloy wheels (H&R hub adapters fitted to give more common 4x100 PCD)...
Aux power socket in glove box

Some Build points that took some time so worth a mention…!
Fuse and relay box for all Head lights and radiator fan and horn, ICE, power socket.
Fed with 12v direct from battery switched via original metro loom.
Rover 5AS alarm unit, Alarm triggered by door switches
Central locking fitted to doors controlled by 5AS via standard fob.
Indicators flash on lock/unlock
Immob led light
Engine start push button, Glows bright when ignition first switched on then dims once engine running.
Hazzard and fog switches illuminated with ignition and go bright when functioned.

Not so good stuff…
The MOMO wheels are matt black with diamond cut face, there is some like little worm tracks appearing under the laquer on some of the spokes, I guess a form of corrosion. Doesn’t bother me as you have to be really looking for it.
The tyres (Toyo Proxes) have plenty of tread but will be coming on for a few years old now so I would advise they should be changed for best traction…
There’s a couple of scratches on the Gel coat I would class as significant but still within the gel coat itself so I believe they could be polished out, I just haven’t bothered. I can take photos if required.
There has of course been some surface corrosion of some of the suspension parts etc, (just the GTM supplied parts, the Z-cars powdercoat appears to be bulletproof!)
This has been removed as far as possible and coated with rust preventive paint by myself but don’t expect as new condition.
Same for the shocks, they are the original GAZ units supplied with my kit. They seem to be working fine just not all shiny!
The rear view mirror can be supplied with the car it just doesn’t want to stay attached to it…
The way I attached the seats to the floor could be improved, It’s solid but they just don’t slide very well on their runners and the angle relative to the wheel and pedals could be better I think.
I think the steering wheel could be adjusted up a bit and perhaps the instruments brought down a bit as depending on your height you can’t quite see the indicator lights on the dash for the wheel… but now I’m just being picky…

Photos to follow…
