Testing the water at the moment. I have been thinking about going back racing in some form and cannot justify having the GTM sat there doing nothing.

2007 Libra, originally factory built, was used daily by the owner and racked up 60k.. when I bought the car from forum member Roger it was in quite a poor state. At the time it had a B16A2 civic SIR engine, I rebuilt a B18C6 Type R engine and fitted that, along with a S80 LSD gearbox, with short 4th gear and 4.78 FD. Fidanza aluminium flywheel and new clutch. The engine had new bearings, re hone, new rings stem seals valves lapped, new gaskets and belts..runs brilliantly. Has a 4-2-1 manifold and 2.5 inch system, sounds awesome in Vtec and revs eagerly right round to 8600rpm.

Had all the wishbones etc off shotblasted and painted, new ball joints, rod ends, wheels powder coated inc full size spare, new protech shocks, rose jointed focus st170 gear change. At this time new mk2.5 tubular rear wishbones were fitted too. Car has the AP brakes, cable gear change, 2.7 turns to lock quick rack, front and rear ARBs etc. all the desirable bits. The car also had proper 1 piece driveshafts made and all new CV joints last year as the "factory" ones were garbage welded MGF/Honda and I managed to split one. Also recently had new headlights and rear bullseye lights.

Can't remember exactly how long the MOT is, I think around 6 months left. Has 2 link pipes, decay fitted currently and a 200cell sports catted pipe for MOT.

Bad bits

Some of the interior trim is a bit rough round the edges being hard on it. Certainly above normal kit car standard though.

I had the car painted and whilst it looks good they didn't do as good a job as I'd like, it served its purpose to freshen the car up but there is the odd blemish here and there and a couple of crazing repairs have unfortunately come back through.

The car could do with proper geometry / tracking setup. I didn't get round to doing this as I was going to do it once I'd fitted the Z cars rear wishbone kit. As it happens I still haven't had the kit... so onto that...the kit is paid for and so I'm told finished but not yet powder coated. I could either get my money back direct from Z cars if they sell it to someone else, or let it go with the car albeit not fitted, for £1000 more. (Bare in mind the kit is £1500).

I'm not 100% on this yet but I think £7500 with the kit and £6500 without is reasonable. I wouldn't describe the car as perfect but I would value a Honda Libra over a K series so at this price point you could certainly spend a few quid on it if you wished to upgrade things further without ending up with too much money in the car.

In an ideal world where I'd have more money and space I'd keep it, but needs must

Go on treat yourself

Just to add, I know I haven't put any contact details but I was hoping it might go to someone registered here, would rather not put personal contact details on a public forum but please feel free to message me through the forum.

I'll give it a week or so on here before putting it on the more mainstream selling sites and brace myself for the "swap 4 my Nissan micra m8" emails !!

Just to clarify in case there's any confusion because the post above makes it sound like the car is "nearly there". The car is perfectly useable now as it is. I'm not selling an ongoing project. I had upgrades planned that I am now no longer doing and selling it but that doesn't mean that you are looking at an advert for a car that needs a load of work. If you want a good example with all the sought after parts on it then you will be hard pushed to find another and I'll stick my neck out and say you won't find another for sale with the B18C engine in.

Not being funny or anything Colin but you know how things can be read and people get the wrong impression.

Hi,

I've been lurking on these boards on and off and am currently looking for a new fun car for the weekends.

In case you do end up selling, whereabouts are you based?

Hi Yazza,

I am interested, I have been following this site for a while waiting for the right one to come up. I have had 7's before and have wanted a change to a libra for a while. I am annoying away at the moment so cant view this week but I would like to put my firm interest forward before you put into the more standard sites. Many thanks, Oggie
