Does anyone know if the auto driveshafts are interchangeable with the PG1/R65?
And has anyone tried a gearchange from a Porsche Boxster?

Indeed, 3100gbp is deadcheap for such a car. No doubt the new owner will spend some cash on engine and gearbox upgrades. Who wants an automatic? I wouldn't.

Jasper there was one advertised a year ago which we tried for my wife as she prefers an auto the car drove nicely and was pretty quick if we had bought it I would have tried to refit the flappy paddles to eliminate the slip present with these boxes

That'll be me then! :D :D

Now I just need a boat so that I can use this gearbox as an anchor.

I'll start a new project thread - as I have lots of questions.

Awesome, congrats on a great buy. Can't wait for your rebuild thread.

I've got a spare PG1 in my shed - its off a 1.6 MGTF so the taller final drive. I may have robbed a couple of bits off it but free to a good home...

TBH you can buy a used PG1 for £40 or so and the MGF cables/shifter for about £30. You are better getting a 'box off a MGTF as the bell crank points forward and the cables from the MGF as the short cable is slightly longer. The bell crank is easy enough to swap over though.

Not sure if the driveshafts are the same but I might have some spares soon if you wanted to compare them.

I've even got a flywheel/clutch assembly (off a VVC - not sure if its different for the 1.6?)

Oh yeah, Not sure if the pedals/bracket are similar but I've got the pedals and clutch master cylinder still on the TF I'm stripping down. I wasn't going to bother putting them on ebay as I don't think there is much chance they'd sell - yours if you can use them as I'm guessing you are a pedal short of what is considered to be normal.

I was tempted by that one as it was local, looked a bargain! Interior needs a bit of updating but looked tidy

Yep, already ordered vinyl and glue to sort the a posts and going to look at some rx8 seats tomorrow. Steering wheel and boss next and seatbelts are awful so need replacing. That's the trouble with kit cars, you never stop building them etc...
