I am offering up for sale my recently built Rossa K3.
This is a chance to purchase an unspoilt example that is very close to the original 1990s specification.
The car was built by myself during 2017 from a bodyshell that had never been on the road. It was subsequently IVA’d in June 2018 and registered on an age related plate on 1st Aug. 2018.
The car will not need an MOT until Aug 2021.
The bodyshell is in the original red gel coat finish although some minor gel coat repairs were needed during the build
I have reinforced various areas of the bodyshell to meet IVA requirements with regard to seat belt mountings.
The build specification:
The original donor was a low mileage 1993 metro GTI. The complete front subframe came from this car. The rear subframe including all suspension and brake parts were new when the parts were originally collected for the build.
All the suspension parts had a light rust coating and were chemically de-rusted (Bilt Hamber Deox C), then primed with Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 and then given 2 coats of Hammerite.
All suspension parts, nuts and bolts and other steel parts were treated with Hammerite Waxoyl during the build.
The build was carried out with new plated or stainless nuts and bolts. None of the plated bolts were reduced in length - therefore preserving the integrity of the plating.
All bolts through the fibreglass were seated with generous penny washers – either plated or stainless steel.
3 of the wheels are from the original donor but have been refurbished. One wheel is brand new.
All petrol pipes are brand new and to IVA spec. Petrol tank mounted in a sealed compartment behind seats (required for IVA)
All brake callipers were refurbished with new seals (required after standing for so long)
All flexible brake pipes are stainless braided.
The seats are from a Smart for Two and are fully adjustable and are heated.
All door seals are new.
The Throttle position sensor has been replaced with a Colvern CPS17 type. (Original replacements are no longer available. The timing belt and Lambda sensor have been replaced. The Head gasket has been replaced.
All 4 tyres are brand new Falken Ziex ZE914 Ecorun 175/60 x 13.
All brake discs are brand new.
The rear brake calipers (and handbrake) have been upgraded to those from a Rover 200.
Cooling system fitted with an auxiliary electric water pump and water level sensor (warning light on dash)
Stainless steel, front to back coolant pipes.
Alarm/immobiliser fitted. Central locking with remote.
Narrow front wheel arch extensions fitted to meet IVA requirements. (Can be removed if preferred)
