We will be meeting as usual on Tuesday 10th March at 7-30pm
at the Roman Way, Newark., The Government has not yet recomended a ban on
gatherings such as ours due to the coronavirus outbreak, but if members prefered
to give it a miss at this time that will be completly understandable.

At our last meet we changed the date for our next meet to 7th April, however,
due to the Coronavirus outbreak and Government recommendations we will
obviously not be meeting in April. With the situation staying very uncertain
it is possible that the May meet may also have to be cancelled.
As soon as it is possible and safe to recommence meetings I will be in touch
with a start date.

When we met in March, who would have thought that that would be our last meet of 2020, but that is what Corvid 19 has done to us,
When we shall be able to meet again is anyone`s guess but hopefully with the roll out of the vaccine it wont be too long.
In the mean time, keep safe, have a good Christmas, as far as possible and I hope we can all look forward to a much brighter new year.

Its now 18 months since our last meet and things seem to be starting to open up. We have enquired if the Roman Way is open and serving evening meals and have been told that they are. However, we cannot get in for our normal booking of the Second Tuesday in the month in September, so we have tentatively booked for Tuesday 12th October. What are your feeling regarding re-starting the meet. Would you be happy to attend or would you rather wait a little longer to see how the Corvid progresses. Please let me know your feeling so that if the general feeling is wait, we can cancel the booking. Many thanks and stay safe.

We have just heard from the Roman Way that they are not able to accommodate us for our meet on Tuesday 12th October.
we will try to book for what should be our next scheduled meet on Tuesday 9th November. Watch this space!

We have checked with the Roman Way and they still have a staff shortage and cannot guarantee meals.

We are therefore looking for another venue in the area and will keep you informed of any updated.

Good news, our meet is back on. We have a new venue. It is The Lord Nelson, Gainsborough Road. Winthorpe. NG24 2NN
We will be meeting on Tuesday 8th March at 7-30pm. It will be great to be able to get back together. All GTMers welcome.

When you think that things are starting to come together thats when it all starts to falls apart.
We were all set to have our first meet at the Lord Nelson on Tuesday 8th March when we received
a call from them on Wednesday, saying that the new extractor system in their kitchen was to be
installed on our meeting date. If they turned down this date the delay would be months; hence
our cancellation for this date. However, they have offered us the following Tuesday, 15th March
which I have accepted. I hope that this is acceptable to those planning on coming, and that it will help you Phil?
Please get in touch if this change is not acceptable.

We have decided not to hold our usual Second Tuesday meet this month as it would be so close after Stoneleigh
instead we are going to meet on Wednesday 18th at Papplewick for their classic and kit car meet. For those who
haven`t been before it is held at the Griffins Head at Papplewick NG15 8EN. If the weather is good cars start gathering
from about 4-30pm and the meet goes on to dusk. Hope to see you there.
This will be my last post as co-ordinator of the GTM East Midland Meet as Howard Yoeman will be taking over on !st June.
I wish Howard all the best as he takes on this new roll.
