The National Kit Car Show ,Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire,CV8 2LZ 30th April/1st May.

Stoneleigh, the only dedicated kit car show left on the calendar, is the one NOT to miss. Especially as 2017 is the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Cox GTM in 1967.

As usual, we will have a large Marquee. The club AGM will be at 1pm on the Sunday and the birthday barbeque/party will start straight after the AGM. We will be continuing into the evening so hopefully everyone will be able to join in, whenever they can, sometime during the afternoon/evening. Some food (i.e. burgers and sausages etc) will be provided by the club for members and guests. If you want more than tea or coffee you will need bring your own drinks. You're welcome to bring your own food to be cooked on the barbeque, if you have any special requirements.

Whilst non club members are welcome to park on the club area [and join in] the AGM is open to paid up members only. I will also be bringing the Regalia for you to buy !

I am still looking for items for the display, planned for our club stand at Stoneleigh, to celebrate GTMs' 50th anniversary since the launch of the Cox GTM . Thank you to those who have already provided some interesting articles and pictures. However if anyone else has any photo's or items that would be suitable for the display, covering GTM story from the early days up to date (especially of early Coupes), please email (generalsec@gtmownersclub.co.uk) or post them to me at my address shown in the newsletter.

If things go to plan I should be back into the UK on Sunday and hope to be there on Monday, I'm also thinking to bring my much revised Jedi after a a year in the workshop having lots of mods and a new engine installation, can I stay at Stoneleigh Monday night as I'm planning to have a morning not far away at Curborough for a shake down of car and a rusty driver.

Hi John

Sorry not to reply earlier, been away for a week. Looking at the club information sheet camping tickets are available for from 10am Saturday 29th April until midday Tuesday 2nd May, so yes you can stay Monday night [hopefully]. It might be better to pre book rather than turn up on the day or you could stay at Stoneleigh Lodge.

Damn :!:
I'd intended going to Stoneleigh..... but have only just realised its the same weekend as my wife's 50th birthday celebrations. Don't think she'll be very happy if i bugger off to a car show for the weekend.
Oh well, next year maybe.... :!:

There will be a convoy of Kitnet people coming up from the SW, first meet up just North of Bristol and then picking up a few more along the Fosse Way - any GTMOC people coming from the SW that want to join the convoy?

I'm turning left at junction 15 (just over the seven bridge) How far is that from where you meet up to go up the M5 as i could go up with you guys?
What time are you thinking?

Hi Colin, Currently planning to not use the motorway at all. Meeting point is very close to J18 of the M4 at the Cross Hands Hotel, Old Sodbury. Planning to leave there at 08:00 with a second meet point near Cirencester where the A429 crosses the A417 to collect a couple of guys coming from Swindon at 08:45

Sounds good to me, that pub is about 35minutes from my house. I'll be there just before 8am in the car park is it?

I've printed out and laminated the article that CKC did on my car 10 years ago. I'll bring it down with me.

Yes, the car park is at the back so you'll need to turn right at the lights. Could be fun getting 10 of us back out onto the main road in one go but there is a layby half a mile further up the A46 so we can regroup!!

Note, we will be leaving at 8:00 - I'll aim to get there at 07:45

The convoy will be picking up one other at Cirencester and then 3 or 4 more near Stow so we could then be 15 strong! We are planning a breakfast stop at Moreton in Marsh.
