Battery Drain
My Libra drains its battery down to 2.5 volts after a couple of days it is fitted with a imobiliser and I checked the current it was pulling from the battery when stood and it was 0.3 amps is this normal or does it soundlike a problem with the battery. Thanks Matty

Re: Battery Drain
0.3 Amps sounds like a fair bit to me, on something that is running the whole time. Assuming a 30Ah battery, 0.3Amps would drain it in 100 Hours, I would have thought it should be able to run for at least a couple of months. You may need to investigate further.

Re: Battery Drain
Disconnect the positive battery lead and stick a multimeter, set to the 10A scale, in series with the lead. That should read out any current drain. If it's more than you think it should be then you've got an extra current flow somewhere.

Re: Battery Drain
Hi Matty,
Think I have got the same problem as you, battery dies after about 5 or 6 days not being used. Which is the Black fuel injection relay you changed? the Haynes manual seems a bit vague about these. I assume its the one acouple of inches accross. Just want to get my libra out again for the spring.
Cheers Chris

Re: Battery Drain
The black box is near the ecu has a couple of molti plugs going to it. Best thing to do is check the current been drawn like said in the post see if it is high then disconnect the black relay box and see if the current draw drops. If not try disconnecting the complete engine loom at the multi plug in the engine bay this would tell you if the current is in the engine bay or not. Thanks Matty

Re: Battery Drain
Thanks for that Matty, I did find the right thing then. Looks like i am going to have some fun with my meter this weekend. Love the way everything is modular, it makes fault finding so much simpler, just keep splitting everything down and you at least know where the fault isnt.
Cheers Chris
