Yeah I found the MGTF (NOT MGF) bottom shock bushes a while ago but haven't declared am as I haven't been able to confirm the size. The bushes were never available separately commercially and only ever came with the shocks which confirms what i've been told by RDM when I contacted em ages ago (they said they normally come fitted to an 'arm' but couldn't recall what).

The ones MGMania & Satur sell i'm pretty sure are just the Merc ones with spacers to take the center hole from 14 to 12mm and correct the width like I did. If so they are however charging way too much for them.

Are the ones you got from Satur the correct size without having to use spacers etc? I note on his site he lists two bushes, one for the bottom of the shocker and one to fit the rear upper arm (RGD000920) they appear to be different.
These MGTF rear upper arms come with the bush pre fitted and you can't normally buy these separately either. Its possible it was this part RDM was referring to rather than the shock (assuming the bush is the right one). I have a suspicion however, that this rear upper arm bush might be the BMW type which is correct except for the 45mm dia body size.

The two bushes on Mike Satur web site area the same part same price both come with spacers like you made to make them the correct size 40mm o/d 12mm bore 57mm wide .They maybe the same as the merc ones that are cheaper but not everyone is able to make the spacers needed .Mike Satur told me in the past cars where failing mot and they could get replacement shocks so people were buy arms to cut the bushes out to repair the shocks so the are same dimension but as you say you couldn't buy the bushes from dealer

Old one left(as fitted to the arms when I got em), new right.

Priced around £18-22 each from the places i've looked at. Seem to be reasonably available from various places but not what i'd call 'plentiful'.

The end(?) of a five year quest.

Ignore the pic in that ebay listing it's clearly a stock shot of a different part.

Got the shocks today, look lurverly. Strangely I can't decide which way up they should go.

Also anyone with protech fronts can tell me how much preload to wind on? Might save me a bit of jacking up n down.
