That reminds me. P9GTM was at the track day I did at Combe a few weeks ago again. I asked him what his chassis number is and he said he thought it was 021 but wasn't completely sure. Its a VVC160 with the later rear trailing arm bushes and the later door cards, he thought it was a factory build.

Hi Gents,

Ive been out of the GTM community for a while, but Im still the proud owner of 2 Spyders.

Spyder #4 - FG53ZXA. Currently SORN. Leicester

There is a lot of history of with this car as its now half way through a huge conversion to an Audi RS4 twin turbo v6 and Lotus Esprit v8 suspension. Its known generally as Big Lairy Spyder there's a really old page here: https://sites.google.com/site/dclaregtm/home

The car has changed significantly since then in most areas and runs but its not been touched for the last 4 years due to a domestic change of circumstances and massive building projects.

K512KRC - not sure of the chassis number because the car and docs are in storage while the builders destroy our house...

This car has also had a massive transformation and has been converted to a KV6 engine with an MGTF rear subframe and suspension. Its set up as a track day car but is currently in storage and SORNed. Its pretty highly developed and has has a lot of money spent on it. The gearbox was specially built with steel caged bearings, close ratios and a Torsen LSD. It has an uprated radiator, twin fans, and a big oil cooler.

The brakes are big HiSpec disks on aluminium bells (320mm front, 305mm rear) with 4 pot calipers all round so the stopping is absolutely awesome.

Suspension wise it has specially built Quantum adjustable shocks on the front (look them up - they are very high quality and expensive!!). The rear has an Eibach uprated anti-roll bar, the front has a fully adjustable ARB.

The wheels are specially made Team Dynamics rims with 255 section Toyo 888s at the rear and 215s at the front.

Here's a Youtube video of it at Zolder for a few pretty slow shakedown laps just after it was rebuilt with the v6. Turn the volume up! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Psmmcr6C_w4

I'll find the chassis number asap....

Hi Dave,

Thank you for the info on your two Spyder's. I came across Big Lairy Spyder on my trawl of the internet some time ago, so it is great to finally add it to the list :)

I hope you can soon finnish your building works and get back to modifying your Spyders, both sound great.

Please post the serial of your second car when you get it back from storage, and I will update the list.

Regards

Dave

Update on Spyder 009, P19GTM. She has moved up to North Yorkshire near Yarm and I have started a rolling restoration. The last 15 years have not been kind under the skin.

Regards Dave
