I'm planning on adding central locking to the libra.
At the moment there aren't any holes for electrics to pass through to the door.

Is there an optimum position to put the holes? And which is the best type of grommet to use?

I'm guessing I'll need to take the doors off to get the holes cut. Do the windows need to be removed the fit the actuators?

I think the position of the holes will depend on where the wires are coming from inside the car. If like mine they came out the side of the dash then the hole was near here, allowing for a length of wire to flex and fold as the door opens and closes.

I didn't use a grommet as such, just a piece of flexible tube to run the wires through. On mine the wires come inside of where the door seal is when closed so no real need to water proof.

So you might not need to remove the doors, i can't remember. On mine the actuators were mounted inboard of the window/frame so you shouldn't need to take that out either.

I could post some pics when i get home, I have the revised door panels with the sculpted fibre glass handles etc that fixes to the window frame and has the door card around that. So it was easy to fix the actuator to the fixed part. But if you have the older style i'm not sure what you would fix them too?

Cheers,
Mike
