This kind of idea would make it very easy but a bolt not a stud

I'll drop them an email, has the shock bolt length changed from the old kit to the Z cars kit Jamie? Just as I don't have mine yet so can't measure up what length we need

That would be ideal.

Not sure if it's changed from the original but the bolt length is 65mm (from underside of head to end of thread).

Let me know if they can do it because I'll order a couple as well :)

Are your roll bar joints different to the standard GTM ones as z cars thought that the joints were 8mm......not sure what they're basing that on though? Probably just an assumption.

It'll be an assumption, mine are 10mm and are factory ones

I'd have said a part threaded bolt would be better as having thread through the bush crush tube could lead to early wear? Good find though!

It's the reducing thread I'm referring to

I'm going to ask if they can do a M12 shanked bolt that reduces to M10 at the end. I'll sketch it and fire it over when I'm in the office tomorrow.

could you tap the bottom end of anti roll bar drop link to 12mm thread then fit 12mm rose joint at bottom so everything will be 12mm on lower shock bolt .I made my drop links from 16mm hex ali bar 10mm thread both ends but could be enlarged to 12mm thread then all other parts are standard parts that are easy to replace if you have any problems

Would a 'shoulder bolt' be what you need?

Not sure as with a shoulder bolt the ARB will be nipped against the shank and the shock would effectively be floating wouldn't it?

I guess the links could be modified to have m12 one end and m10 the other. There's a few ways to do it but they're all going to require new parts

I got a quote for the special bolts m12-m10 with a shank. As they're specials they're £10 each and min order of 10... I think that's the easiest solution but does anyone else want them??

Good stuff Ray. Be very interesting to see what difference it makes......quite a bit I expect.

I expect you'll be back on the road before mine is finished, a good weekends work would see it fitted. Had some powder coating hold ups with mine (not z cars, engine frame etc) but making some good progress now; new engine is in and things being bolted to the car rather than removed

If you can fit the manifold with the engine in place there must be a lot more room between the engine and the bulkhead on the Libra than the Spyder. There's no way I could do that on mine!

Looking forward to a pic of the manifold all freshly coated 8)
