The extension goes tight into the Rod End - all the way. Adjustment is then at the steering arm/extender. If you've got toe-out then I'd suggest you've wound them onto the steering arms too far. That is if I'm understanding you correctly. |

Thanks. How is the extender looked into the tie rod, with a lock but or thread lock maybe? The problem I seem to have is that with room for two lock nuts, the arm is too long giving toe out? |

No nut between TRE and extender. I'll be using threadlock. Though in the situation it's in I'd be surprised if it could come loose. |

When I installed my TF rack I reused the existing extenders as they seemed in good condition. They went right up to the shoulder on the extender into the new TREs so effectively self locked by the shoulder touching the TRE. No lock nut against the TRE. The lock nut was used on the rack thread tightened up the extender. Rack is in front of the king pin line so toe out if too long. I found there was plenty of adjustment and could have gone toe in or toe out so my extenders seem to be the right length. Thanks Gents. I’ll screw the extenders fully into the joints and see what I’ve got. |
