Post Front Ball Joints
Hi all, just looking for a bit of clarification as having searched I haven't found a definitive answer...not on the upper anyway.
Front ball joints, I'm thinking :

Upper is late Metro/R100?
Lower is apparently Mk1 Golf
Track rod ends Metro non GTI/A

Correct or not?

Cheers Stew.

Can't comment on the ball joints but on the TRE's you are correct but beware that some sites list them as imperial thread and some as metric. I went metric and they fit fine. Also beware that the rack ends have extenders - when you take the old ones off makes sure you don't throw away the extenders!

Correct Stew, the upper ball joints are the standard Rover Metro / Rover 100 units.

TREs are non GTi/a.

Lower front:

Upper BJ are Rover Metro/100 front and rear. This might help with removal:

Part no TC301 or FBJ5151 depending on your supplier for the upper ball joint on all 4 hubs.

Hi Ian

I haven't got one in stock to check pin sizes but I have always got the right one with these part numbers,TC207 or FBJ5056 (depending on your supplier).

Bob.

Those part no's also fit Porsche 944. Can we claim our GTM's have Porsche suspension?
