Can anyone explain to me how the MEMS 2 diagnostic system is supposed to work? I have no obd2 socket on my loom and I cant find a wiring diagram for the socket so i can make one up. I see diagnostic socket mentioned on a number of 1.8 vvc wiring diagrams.... |

http://www.mgfcar.de/schedules/sb10.jpg But I don't think it's very useful as you have to have the original MG software & their specific equipment. |

Theres only one pink wire, surely there were several connected to a j1962 connector (see image attached). I saw a couple of other wires mentioned going to the diagnostic socket on the anti theft circuit diagram, but no clarification on what pins they would connect to.

AFIK it is only the Mems 3.0 ecu's that are OBD11 compliant, the 1.9's (most non VVC <2001) and 2.0 (VVC <2001) used a non-OBD11 diagnostic system that required special hardware/software to interrogate. I suspect the ECU sent the signals down the one pink wire for the testbook machine to read. |

Ah, so it's not an option. Ok, thank you. |
