Does the chassis number on a Libra give any clue to where any particular car would be in the production run, and does anyone know how many Libras were made? Thanks. |

Hi John The last few digits give your number in the production run. My Libra is SA9... GTM's number............. 081 being chassis number 81. Your Spyder is chassis 09. Your Libra should have a higher number as the builder told me that he bought it from RDM, so post Sutton Bonnington era When I did the GTMOC magazine last time the highest chassis number was 139 and this came on an 09 plate. A few were made at Westfield, but I guess yours is on of the last few Phil |

That explains it then, my Libra is number 130. I’m sure I read somewhere that about 400 were made but that seems to be way out. |

Libra 139 was bought from Westfield so that will probably be one of the last produced |

I wondered if the 400 number was how many cars GTM ever made but just read on wikipedia (so probably false) that 800 coupes were made. Something like 40 Spyders and 135 Libras was my understanding |

139 is the highest chassis number have seen a yellow gelcoat car i think built by Greg Barton .I think this one maybe one of the last produced by rdm because is was gelcoat. The car i have been building for years was the first from westfield but was ordered from rdm and is chassis number 001 and is painted due to poor condition of moulds that came from rdm i do not know how many more westfield sold but said one went to America and i know the owner of the last one westfield sold but do not if they sold anymore than 3 including mine so that could be total of 142 ? |

My Libra was built in late 2005 so that means they made an average of about 18 each year between 1998-2005. Then another 10 or so over the next 5 years. It's a much rarer car than I ever imagined. Wonder how many are V6's? |

I know someone tried to start a "Libra List" here but didn't get off the ground. Pity - the "Spyder list" is a useful record of these rare cars. http://www.gtmdrivers.com/forum/libra-list-t3491.html?hilit=libra%20list&sid=f8b17317a805de5e657a8225f55b2b03 Perhaps someone should try this again using the same format as the Spyder list? |

For those that are members of the GTMOC, I produced the Stoneleigh magazine in June as a reasonably comprehensive listing of as many members cars as I was able to. This included a picture and details of owner etc as shown by my car below. Although not comprehensive it does cover from the early Cox days (4 cars listed) through to the Spyder and Hambly Coupe. Since doing this magazine a few more cars have been added and/or updated, and as I said at the time, I am happy to keep adding and updating the Owners Club list and publishing it periodically. Model Libra Chassis No 081 Year 2002 Status On the road Engine 1.8 VVC 160bhp Location Selkirkshire Owner Main use Leisure use whenever possible and holidays No of owners 2nd owner Factory built by GMT using a new engine & gearbox, factory option of Compomotive 17’’ MOs |

Sorry, but won't be able to post the details on here as the info was given to the Owners Club magazine only, and this is an open site and I don't have permission from the members who gave me their info to post here. |

Can you just post a list of the car numbers who gave info, so at least 'known' (or even the colour too?) can be added to the appropriate one on the forum's list? |
